Lengthy reblog, but I am so digging this

travie:

Open Happiness was created in the spirit of dedication and collaboration with artists and producers from across the US. It turned Coke’s famous “5-note tune” into a full length song. Butch Walker oversaw the recording of Travis McKoy and Brendon Urie in NYC, Cee-Lo and Janelle Monae in Atlanta, and Patrick Stump in LA. Butch Walker and Polow Da Don came together to mix multiple versions of the single, and add additional recordings. This continent-wide collaboration is now realized in Open Happiness.

  • Butch Walker

Butch Walker is man of many talents. Simply calling him a producer is an injustice that ignores his success as a songwriter, solo artist, and live act.

VERSE ONE

ahhh..ohhh
Well hello is this thing on
Is anybody listening
A brand new day has begun

The first thing that I want do
Make sure that you feel it too
So I’m not the only one

CHORUS

Cmon lift me up (its a brand new day)
Open up a lil happiness today
So I can be someone new
Cmon and lift me up (to a better way)
Open up a smile on another face
So I can (feel something new)

Open up some happiness
Open up some happiness
Open up some happiness

VERSE TWO

Ahem*Ahem* let me clear my throat
So you can hear clearly every word spoke
Today I woke feeling lovely
Happiness overflowin knowin somebody loves me
Just think yesterday I was down and out
Now there’s not a single thing for me to frown about
And the same thing can happen to you
Smiling so hard my mouth look like a capital U

VERSE THREE

I want the sun to shine
All the time
Is that too much to ask
Oh, I want to have some fun
I want all my friends to come
Cause it’s now or never
Learn the words and sign together

CHORUS REPEAT

Cmon lift me up (its a brand new day)
Open up a lil happiness today
So I can be someone new
Cmon and lift me up (to a better way)
Open up a smile on another face
So I can (feel something new)

Open up some happiness
Open up some happiness
Open up some happiness

BRIDGE

Your heart deserves your trust
A choice made for all of us
The sun will come back tomorrow
There’s a message in a bottle
So come on I’ll meet you there
There’s enough sunshine to share
As long as you know
The bridge between us is a rainbow

CHORUS REPEAT

Cmon lift me up (its a brand new day)
Open up a lil happiness today
So I can be someone new
Cmon and lift me up (to a better way)
Open up a smile on another face
So I can (feel something new)

Open up some happiness
Open up some happiness
Open up some happiness

Despite the spelling mistakes and copy-pasted from out-of-date-press-release information, I am actually super excited about this because:

1) The Happiness Factory ad made me actually cry. I was probably hormonal or something, but nonetheless I cried.

2) Patrick Stump! I approve of Patrick Stump always.

3) Travis! see point 2

4) Brendon Urie! It’s making me a little sad how big some of the projects are that those little Panic boys are cropping up in these days. Slow down! stop getting so famous so quick and let me catch up…

5) Butch Walker. I have made it no secret that when someone just happens to hear my demo on the internet or i end up at an Angels and Kings kareoke night or something and I get my picture perfect, couldn’t-make-this-up big music industry break that I want Patrick Stump to produce my album with Butch Walker doing the singles. Shut up, it’s going to happen.

ok I’m done now
